Korea thwarted China's attempt to win both medals from shooting on the last day of competition at the Afro-Asian Games at Hyderabad on Friday, but the latter still ended up winners, bagging six out of 15 gold medals on offer.

Lee Sang Hak was the Korean winner on Friday in the men's 25m Rapid Fire Pistol. He won the gold medal with a total score of 677.7, pipping China's Ji Haiping (671.6) and Liu Guohui (670.7) who won the silver and bronze respectively.

India's Ronak Pandit finished fourth with a score of 665.7 points.

Asian Games champion Ching Ying was China's gold medal winner. She won the women's 10m Air Pistol with a score of 486.9 points.

Kazakh Bondereva Juliya (476.2) and Mangolia's Gundegmaa Otryad Otryad (474.7) were second and third respectively.

India again finished fourth, with Anisa Syed scoring 465.8 points.

China ended their campaign at the Hyderabad University Shooting range with six gold, two silver and two bronze ahead of India, who finished with 3-6-2 for a total of 11 medals.

China were in line for a golden double but Hak upset both the Chinese in the final rounds. The Chinese were leading the pack by a four-point margin but Hak came back to win the gold as both his challengers faded away in the final.

Liu, who had a four-point advantage, fared miserably, accumulating only 86.7 points as against the Korean's 97.3 in the final. Haiping scored 90.6 in the final to claim silver.

In 10m air pistol for women, Ying was away ahead in both the qualification and finals. She shot 388 out of 400 in the qualification and 98.9 in the final.
