South Africa maintained their wining streak, drubbing Ghana 6-0 in a women's hockey league match at the Afro-Asian GamesĀ at Hyderabad on Sunday.

The victory catapulted South African to the top of the table. They have nine points, having already beaten India and Kazakhstan comprehensively in their earlier Pool A matches.

The first to move in to the semi-finals from the group, South Africa are most likely to be joined by India in the last four stage. India need just a draw against minnows Kazakhstan to qualify.

China and Korea have already qualified for the knock-out stage from Pool B.

In another match, Lilian Kimeu scored twice as Kenya recorded their first victory of the tournament, beating Nigeria 2-1.

Lilian gave the Kenyans the lead in the fourth minute before Faith Okoh equalized from a penalty-corner in the 21st minute.

The teams were level 1-1 at half-time.

Though the Kenyans tried hard to regain the lead, they were denied opportunities by a determined Nigerian side. However, Lilian made sure of the team's first victory when she converted a penalty-corner in the 54th minute.

The lopsided South Africa - Ghana match saw Pietie Coetzee score in the 10th and 18th minutes and Johke Koornhof in the 30th and 45th minutes to pile the misery on the minnows.

Jennifer Wilson and captain Susan Webber also scored once in the 12th and 66th minutes.
