India crashed out of the Asian Football Confederation women's championships when they suffered their second successive defeat in a Group C league match in Bangkok on Friday.

The Indian women lost 1-2 to Vietnam in their last league match after trailing 0-2 at one point.

Luu Ngoc-mai and Phuang Thi Minh Nguyet scored the goals for Vietnam in the ninth and 35th minutes respectively.

The sole Indian goal came through N Geetarani Chanu, in the 60th minute.

India were beaten 12-0 by China in their previous game.

In their first match, India defeated Uzbekistan 6-0.

Vietnam also bowed out of the tournament.

China look certainties to qualify from Group C for the semi-finals

In another match, Chinese Taipei kept alive their hopes of qualifying for the semi-finals with a 4-0 win over the Philippines.

After an umpressive win over Guam earlier in the week, Chinese Taipei need to win today's match to stay in the running. In the end they deservedly snatched all three points to maintain their 100 per cent record going into the all-important clash with Japan on Sunday.

All Chinese Taipei's goals came in the first-half, with Wu Shin-Tung bagging the opener on seven minutes.

Lin Yu-hui scored twice, on 23 and 35 minutes, before Huang Chun-lan rounded things off in five minutes before half-time.

Although Chinese Taipei, who won this tournament in 1977, '79 and '81, never looked like losing this game, it seems unlikely on this form that they will beat Japan on Sunday.

Japan beat the Philippines 15-0 earlier in the week in their first group game of the tournament.
