Indians G Rohit and J Rajasurya maintained their all-win record to lead the field in the boys' and girls' under-14 categories respectively after the third round in the Asian Youth chess championships in Kozikhode on Monday.
Second seed Rohit was tied with three points along with top seed Nguyen Ngoc Troung Son of Vietnam and Toufighi Tamijiani Homayoon of Iran, all of whom registered their third successive wins today.
Aswin Jayaram was placed half a point behind in the boys' under-14 division while India's main hope and third seed Abhijeet Gupta was prominent among the losers.
In the girls' under-14 category, Rajasurya was in the sole lead after her third win.
In the boys' under-12 group, 20th seed P P Prachura remained the sole leader with three points, followed by Y Sandeep, K Narayanan, Yuzvendra S Chahal and top seed Le Quang Liem of Vietnam with 2.5 points apiece.
Among girls, top seed I Ramya Krishna and Lakshmi Praneetha were leading the table with their third successive victories.
Koohestani Md Azad Shahin of Iran held top-seed Parimarjan Negi to a draw to follow the sole leader, second seed N Srinath in under-10 boys' section. Omkar Sanjay Davate and K Priyadarshan were the other two in the second spot with 2.5 points each.
In the under-10 girls' section, India's J Mohana Priya and P Lakshmi Sahiti were ahead of others, leading with three points each followed by V Chaitanya.
