The leopard-cat faceoff... in a well!
Date: September 6
Location: Nashi
Yes, they are cousins... distant ones.
They belong to the same feline family.
One decided to chase the other. But no one knew if it was in earnest.
The two -- a leopard and a cat -- came face-to-face after falling into a well in Nashik.
"The leopard fell in the well while chasing the cat. It was later rescued and released in its natural habitat," said Pankaj Garg, deputy conservator of forests, West Nashik division.
Nothing was said about the cat, though; we hope it was rescued as well.

One of the teachers said they would continue to do so until the flood waters recede.
The pandemic has already impacted children's education.

The idol was found by labourers on August 13 in the Jhelum river at Pandrethan, Srinagar -- Pandrethan, incidentally, is a former capital of Kashmir.
The sculpture -- which depicts Goddess Durga sitting a lion throne, surrounded by four attendants -- is believed to be around 12 centuries old.
"Examination by experts revealed that the sculpture of Goddess Durga dates back roughly to 7th-8th AD (about 1,200 years)," said the deputy director, department of archives.
