Boy sells bird food to save sister

This 10-year-old boy is determined to do everything he can to save his sister.
Twelve-year-old Sakeena Begum was diagnosed with brain cancer two years ago and her brother, Syed Aziz, is determined to save her.
He is selling bird food to raise the funds the family needs.
At the same time, this brave young lad has made sure his education is not affected; he continues to go to school.
"We haven't received much help. We received government funds only for her radiation therapy. The medication she needs now is too expensive," says a desperate Bilkes Begum, Sakeena's mother.
This councillor sells bhutta

Location: Washim, Maharashtra
He's the local councillor in Washim.
He has also been selling roasted corn on the cob by the roadside for the past 10 years.
And he manages both professions with aplomb.
Meet Chand Shah, who contested the elections after local citizens encouraged him to do so.
He hopes to continue serving their needs through both his professions.
World Cup winner works as labourer

It's the tragedy of India.
We fail to value our sportspersons. And they continue to battle hardship and poverty.
Naresh Tumda, who was part of the team that lifted the Blind Cricket World Cup for India in 2018, is eking out a living as a labourer.
Tumda was part of the team that defeated Pakistan in Sharjah in the 2018 World Cup final.
"I earn Rs 250 a day," he says, as he appeals to the government for a job that will ease his financial distress.
The great python rescue

Location: Vadodara
Sluggish from a hearty meal, a 10-foot long python found itself in a Vadodara river on August 9.
Thankfully, its predicament came to the attention of Gujarat forest department officials and it was rescued.
The meal the reptile had ingested was a monkey, which it regurgitated at the rescue centre.
"The python is in a good situation. We will release it in the jungle once permission is obtained," said a rescuer.

Pushpa Paagdhare is the mellifluous voice behind the beautiful Itni hakti hame dena Daata song from Nana Patekar's 1986 movie, Ankush.
The singer is now struggling financially and hopes the government and the film industry will help her.
Students's 'driverless' electric four-wheeler uses AI

Location: Pune
It uses artificial intelligence.
It's driverless.
It's electric.
It's a four-wheeler.
It's been designed by engineering students in their final year at the MIT World Peace University, Pune.
And, according the university it's also 'India's first such vehicle.'
The students were guided by MAEER'S founder-trustee Professor Prakash Joshi and the head of its school of mechanical engineering Professor Dr Ganesh M Kakandikar.
"The driverless vehicle can travel for up to 40 km on a single charge and can be used in airports and golf clubs," says Professor Joshi.
