Can the COVID vaccine cure paralysis?
Date: January 15
Location: Bokaro
Four years ago, Dularchand Munda from Bokaro, Jharkhand, was in a bad accident that left him paralysed and took away his voice.
Until he took the Covishield vaccine on January 4.
Now, says Munda, who is 55 years old, he can move and speak.
"I'm glad to have taken this vaccine," he says. "I can move my legs after taking it."
His family states they spent a lot of money on Munda's treatment, but a single dose of Covishield cured him.
Bokaro Civil Surgeon Dr Jitendra Kumar has asked for the constitution of a medical team to analyse the case.
"Amazed to see this. But it needs to be ascertained by scientists," Dr Kumar said. "Had he recovered from a medical condition not more than some days old, it could be understood. But recovering suddenly from a four-year-old medical condition after taking the vaccine is unbelievable."
200 km, 24 hours: Incredible Feat
Date: January 16
Location: Bhubaneswar
How many of us walk even a thousand steps a day?
The more health conscious among us may glance ruefully at our fitness bands and attempt to cover 10,000 steps a day.
And then, there are people like Kamalakanta Nayak.
Once they take on a challenge, nothing stops them.
One day, this para-athlete decided to set a Guinness Book of World Record feat by covering 200 km in 24 hours in a manual wheelchair. And that's exactly what he did.
Nayak's aim? He wants specially-abled people to know that they too can achieve their goals.
This is how that journey began.
Malaika, Arjun's lunch date
Date: January 17
Location: Mumbai
As rumours of a break-up swirled around the couple, Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor decided to ignore it all and step out for a lunch date.
While Malaika set the temperature soaring in a ruffled white dress, Arjun opted for casual cool in blue.
It was #Ishaqzaade vibes all the way.
Is this calf an incarnation of Shiva?
Date: January 17
Location: Rajnandgaon
That's what these villagers in Chhattisgarh's Rajnandgaon district believe.
They are flocking to see the new-born calf, which has three eyes and is being worshipped as a reincarnation of Lord Shiva.
"We were surprised. It has four nostrils instead of two and three eyes," says the calf's owner.
Grape farm on your terrace?
Date: January 18
Location: Pune
If you are in the mood for a fresh bunch of grapes -- and it's the season as well -- you'd probably go to your nearest fruit seller to buy some.
But Bahusaheb Kanchan will just go to his terrace, which is now a full-fledged grape farm.
Kanchan was inspired when, during a visit to Europe in 2013, he saw people growing grapes and other fruits on their terraces even though these places had thousands of acres of grape farms.
Kanchan, who lives in Pune, bought five grapevines from the ICAR National Research Centre for Grapes and put his idea to work.

Heavy snow doesn't stop the Army
Date: January 19
Location: Poonch
Here's a video that will warm the cockles of your heart and want to make you stand up and salute.
This, folks, is the Indian Army patrolling the higher reaches of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir in heavy snow.
And now, people who don't want the vaccine
Date: January 20
Location: Ballia
If Dularchand Munda is all praise for the COVID vaccine, here are two people who have no faith in it at all.
Both incidents took place in the state that is soon going to the polls, Uttar Pradesh.
A boatman in Ballia district refused to take the COVID vaccine. When the healthcare worker tried to reason with him, he was manhandled.
In another incident, a villager from the same district decided he would prefer sitting on a tree than taking a shot. So, he climbed. And waited. As did the health care workers.
The drama played out for a few hours before the man came down.
And, yes, he did take the vaccine.
Is this the next Neeraj Chopra?
Date: January 21
Location: Jaunpur
As Kamalakanta Nayak proved, determination is everything.
Here's another lad who, in his own way, is making the same point.
Rohan Yadav, a Class 11 student, hopes to become an international-level javelin thrower.
He is inspired by his father, who is a marathon runner, his brother Rohit Yadav, who is an international javelin thrower and '(Olympic gold medallist) Neeraj (Chopra) bhaiya.'
Rohan wants to qualify for the Under-20 World Championships and has been training for two years.
He is being trained online by Peru-based coach Michael Musselmann who, impressed by his talent, does not charge a fee.
Videos of his training sessions may have made Rohan an online sensation but what he is most thrilled about is that '65 metres is my best throw'.
His aim, of course, is to hurl the javelin much, much, farther.
