Condemning the attack on separatist leader Fazal Haq Qureshi, Hurriyat Conference on Saturday said it will not be cowed down by such acts and will pursue the path of dialogue for resolving the Kashmir problem.

Hurriyat Conference chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said his organisation believes in dialogue with India and Pakistan to "reach the goal" of resolving the matter.

"We want to inform all those elements that the Hurriyat Conference will not be cowed down by such attacks. We will not retreat (from the talks)," the Mirwaiz told reporters here.

His comments came in the backdrop of the murder attempt on senior separatist Hurriyat leader Fazal Haq Qureshi in Srinagar yesterday in an apparent attempt to derail the dialogue process in Jammu and Kashmir.

"We will try to find a solution to the issue through talks. Talks should be held with Pakistan, with India, to find a solution. This is the way to solve the problem," he said.

Another separatist leader Yasin Malik also condemned the "inhuman, brutal" attack.

"Who has done it, he cannot be part of the human society," Malik said.
