The West Bengal government on Friday withdrew the judicial inquiry into Rizwanur Rahman's death.
The state government's decision came a day after Rizwanur's mother and elder brother filed a petition in the Calcutta high court seeking withdrawal of the judicial inquiry into his death.
Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharya said the decision was taken as it may overlap with the CBI investigation demanded by Rizwanur's family.
