Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivers his Teachers' Day address at an auditorium in New Delhi with about 700 children in the audience.

National broadcaster Doordarshan is telecasting the much-talked about programme live, which can also be heard on radio.

In a message posted on Twitter on Friday morning, he wrote, "We salute all teachers, who tirelessly light the lamp of knowledge."
