Vadodara Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament Balu Shukla has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar denying the reported news that he was caught spying in the office of his party's senior leader Sushma Swaraj.

Shukla's contention is that the entire story was based on premise that he was caught stealing papers in Swaraj's office and his alleged theft was caught on a CCTV camera.

Shukla has send his explanation after two days of publication of the report in a Gujarati daily.

In the letter to speaker, Shukla has revealed that the report was published "absolutely with malafide intention to spoil my political carrier”.

Balu Shukla visited Kumar along with Swaraj on Wednesday. Both have requested Kumar to handover this issue to the privilege committee as this issue allegedly took place in the chamber of Swaraj which is located in the Lok Sabha premises.

Balu Shukla said that Swaraj's office doesn't have CCTV camera, “so how can any reporter base the story on footage?”

He also said in the letter that someone has intensely tried to spoil the image of Swaraj and the BJP.
