Uttam's Take: Why 2070? Why Not Earlier?

Uttam Ghosh -- like most leaders at the COP26 summit in Glasgow -- is surprised at India's pledge to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2070.

World leaders had expected India to set 2050 as the deadline -- or 2060 like China has done -- but 2070 appears 20 years too long for a world confronting an existential threat to its way of life.
