Presumptive US Republican presidential nominee John McCain is expected to meet soon with Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, a recent report said.
McCain is expected to travel to Louisiana on Wednesday. The timing and the haste with which the visit is arranged, has caught some members of Jindal's team by surprise, the report added.
A source close to Jindal confirmed the visit.
Reports indicated McCain is close to naming a running mate for his campaign, and Jindal is considered one of the likely candidates.
On Sunday, Jindal appeared on CNN, where he applauded McCain's policies on Iraq and Afghanistan and criticised those of rival Senator Barack Obama.
