Lakhani convicted of selling missiles

Hemant Lakhani, an India-born former British clothing merchant, has been convicted of attempting to sell shoulder-launched missiles to what he believed was a terrorist group.

The judgment was pronounced by a federal jury on Wednesday. Lakhani was found guilty on five counts.

Lakhani was arrested in 2003

in Newark following a sting operation in which undercover operatives posed as terrorists and arms dealers.
