Seeking to take forward its global campaign against terrorism, the United States has said it will go for strategic collaborations with India and countries of Southeast Asia to combat the menace.
Asking Southeast Asian countries to do "everything they possibly can" to root out terrorism, Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage said America is discussing signing of memoranda of understanding on counter-terrorism with countries, including India.
"It is clear to me they take the view that we should do what we can to assist them where they would like assistance," he said in Australia.
"That is the basis of having memoranda of understanding on counter-terrorism with Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia and prospectively with the Philippines... We have been talking about collaboration with India as well," Armitage said.
