United States-based Los Angeles Emergency Operation Centre will train officers of Force One, an elite force formed on the lines of National Security Guard, and Maharashtra disaster management staff.

Los Angeles Sheriff Leroy Baca will visit Mumbai next month and would sign a MoU in this regard, an official release said.

Baca invited Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, currently on a US tour, to visit Los Angeles Emergency Operation Centre.

The chief minister was apprised of their system and how man-made disasters are tackled effectively.

The Los Angeles Metropolitan Transport Authority (MTA) will impart free training to make public transport more secure and effective in Mumbai, the release said.
