Stating that the United States has a strong interest in helping India in preventing terror attacks, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia Robert Blake said the country wants to see improved relations between India and Pakistan.

"We have very strong interest in helping India prevent such attacks. We want to see much better relations between India and Pakistan," Blake said during the 'Gateway House' Indian Council on Global Relations in Mumbai on Thursday night.

He said the United States will lend support to India in investigations in the 13/7 serial bombings in Mumbai. The US strongly supports the Government of India and also the state government, Blake said. "We are trying to expand our counter terrorism co-operation."

On cyber security, he said, the US has been taking all possible measures to prevent cyber attacks and has been cooperating with India over the issue. "Hackers are spreading in both India and US and are engaging in cyber attacks. Cyber security is very important and a very high priority matter for both the countries."

On the economy front, Blake said, "India is the fastest growing economic source in America and increasingly Americans are very actively reaching out to Indians at all levels." Highlighting the work done by US President Barack Obama on clean energy, Blake said the US has made tremendous progress by dramatically increasing investments in solar, wind and other clean energy sources.

Expressing concern on corruption in India, he said, "We are worried about corruption and want the money invested by our companies to be used wisely."

On the civil nuclear deal, he said, "We are helping India develop civilian nuclear technology and civilian nuclear capability so that they can be at the centrestage of nuclear power."
