The Bharatiya Janata Party dismissed as propaganda the United Progressive Alliance government's report card and said the Centre has failed to check prices, is confused on how to fight Maoists, has corrupt and irresponsible ministers and lacks an independent foreign policy.
"I think it is important for a government to be judged by the people rather than judge itself. What has been released today is propaganda, not a reality," Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley said. The senior BJP leader alleged that the UPA regime had failed on all fronts.
"The reality is that prices have remained unchecked, there is confusion on how to fight Maoists, corruption of some ministers is going unchecked, there is irresponsible ministerial behaviour, and there is absence of pursuit of an independent foreign policy," Jaitley said. The senior BJP leader labelled the UPA regime as an "incoherent and non-performing government".
