The Congress has said it had no intention to topple the Mulayam Singh government.
"Where is the question of toppling the Mulayam government when we are extending support to it?" senior Congress leader and Union Human Resources Development Minister Arjun Singh told reporters in New Delhi on Sunday.

To a query on threats from Left parties, he said "neither have I heard about any threat nor would it have any impact on us".
However, he said, to defeat the communal forces, there was need for Left and other parties to come together and added that the United Progressive government would complete its full term.
He also denied that Congress has deserted the economic policies introduced by former leaders Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi saying Congress has not diverted from that.
Singh said Congress wanted to strengthen party organisations in four states -- Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chattisgarh.
"These four states were the forts of Congress, but today I feel hurt seeing the position of the party there," he said earlier addressing party workers.
