At least six persons were on Monday injured when a portion of an under-construction flyover collapsed on them in Rudauli town of Faizabad district of Uttar Pradesh, police said.
"Nearly five to six workers were injured when slab of an under-construction flyover collapsed on them at Roza crossing this morning," Additional Director General of Police Brij Lal said.
The injured were taken to district hospital, where condition of some of them was stated to be serious, he said.
District magistrate and senior police officials rushed the spot where rescue operation was on. "We are trying to ascertain whether there is any casualty or some workers are trapped under the debris," the officer said.
The flyover is part of ongoing national highway project, an official said.
