"Talks are still on with the Congress on seat sharing. But so far nothing has been finalised. We are going ahead with the campaign and selection of candidates. After all, we cannot wait for the Congress forever. They must put their house in order," Singh said.
The Congress on its part said that an agreement has been reached between the two parties. The Congress has offered 50 seats to the RLD and has promised to give Singh a cabinet berth if the alliance emerges victorious.
The RLD has 10 representatives in the state assembly, but he is confident that the party will perform well in the upcoming assembly polls.
Singh hit out at Chief Minister Mayawati's plan to spilt Uttar Pradesh into four smaller states. "It is an opportunistic decision. Mayawati may pass a resolution, but it cannot be implemented," he claimed.
