A case was registered against Bharti for flouting curfew orders and unflurling the national flag at the Idgah maidan in the town leading to communal violence.

The Judge disallowed the petition on the ground it was "time barred", R R Patil, counsel for Bharti, told reporters.

The judge has reverted the case back to the first class judicial magistrate, which means the non-bailable warrant issued against Bharti will remain in force.
