Two victims of Nepal plane crash from Tamil Nadu

Two of the 15 people killed in the plane crash near high-altitude Jomsom airport in northern Nepal on Monday were from Tamil Nadu.

The victims were Latha Sreekanth from Chennai and L S Sudarsanam of  Kumbakanam.

Latha was on a holiday with her husband Sreekanth, a software engineer from Infosys, and their daughters Sreevardhini and Sreepada. They were injured in the crash and admitted to the hospital.

Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has asked the state's representative in New Delhi to make arrangements to bring back the bodies of the two victims. 

In a statement, Jayalalithaa said she had directed the Resident Commissioner in Delhi to provide all help to Sreekanth and his daughters.

The Dornier 9N AIG aircraft, with 21 people on board, crashed near Kathmandu on Monday after hitting a mountain peak.

While 15 people were killed in the crash, three Indians and two Danish nationals escaped with injuries, according to media reports from Kathmandu.
