Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kulgam district of south Kashmir early Thursday morning.
The encounter broke out in a forest area of Kulgam, 70 kms from Srinagar, when security forces launched an operation following specific information about presence of terrorists, a defence spokesman said.
The terrorists hiding in the forests opened fire on the search party and in the ensuing gunfight two terrorists were killed, he said.
The identity of the slain terrorists is yet to be ascertained.
The gunbattle was going on when reports last came in.
