Two Lashkar terrorists killed in Kashmir encounter

Two terrorists of the Lashkar-e Tayiba outfit were killed in an encounter with security forces in Kawdrang area of south Kashmir Shopian district on Monday afternoon.

A police spokesman in Srinagar said troops of 1 Rashtriya Rifles and police jointly surrounded Kawdang village on Monday for searches.

"The operation was launched on specific information developed by Srinagar police. Two LeT terrorists were killed in the joint operation in an open field," the spokesman said. He said one militant was arrested.

Meanwhile the spokesman said 'three miscreants involved in fomenting, abetting and organizing stone pelting and shutdowns in Srinagar' were arrested by the police this afternoon.
