Indian-American leads Pennsylvania Democrat race
May 19, 2010
Indian American doctor Manan Trivedi won a tight race against Doug Pike in the Democratic primary in Pennysylvania's Sixth congressional district. Trivedi will run against Republican Jim Gerlach in November.
35-year old Trivedi did not declare a victory until he was certain that all votes had been counted, the Philadelphia Inquirer
reported. Trivedi jumped into the fray in September and has received support from the party committee as well as local Democrats. Several voters said that Trivedi's endorsement by local Democrat leaders had swung them in his favour.
