Top cops to discuss terror, cyber crime

Terrorism, left-wing extremism and cyber crime will be the subject of discussions at the three-day director general of police conference that commences on Thursday.

President Pratibha Patil will receive the DGPs at Rashtrapati Bhavan, while Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh will interact with a select eight DGPs on terrorism.

Ten DGPs are expected to share their experiences on left-wing extremism.

Secretary at the Research and Analysis Wing, S C Tripathi, will make a presentation, which is slated for the third day.

Director Central Bureau of Investigation, AP Singh, is expected to make a presentation on cyber crime. He will also focus on modern electronic gadgets that are used to trigger blasts. 

The conference has been organised by Nachal Sandhu director intelligence bureau. Joint directors of subsidiary intelligence bureaus from all states are to present their views on terrorism and cyber crime in internal discussions.
