Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Praveen Togadia on Tuesday said the welcome of Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari before the extradition of Mumbai terror attack accused Hafiz Saeed was a "matter of shame" and the Centre it seemed was taking it up only as a diplomatic issue.
"Welcoming Zardari before extradition of Hafiz Saeed is a matter of shame. It appears that our government took it as a diplomatic issue to be raised repeatedly", Togadia told mediapersons in Bahraich.
He said that the VHP had written a letter to the prime minister to seek time to meet Zardari to raise the issue of atrocities on Hindus in Pakistan but they were not given time.
On the Samajwadi Party government's announcement of giving Rs 30,000 to Muslim girls, Togadia said that the party was playing the politics of appeasement of a particular community and this was a glaring example.
He said that VHP would support all the agitations and movements for cleaning up the Ganga.
