The DMK had incorported this in the 2006-07 budget. An official press release said DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi would distribute the TV sets to beneficiaries of a "Samthuvapuram" colony (comprising members of all castes and communities) at Padappai.
On September 16, other state ministers will distribute TVs in all districts, the release said.
