Three Telugu Desam Party leaders including former state Home Minister K Siva Prasad Rao on Thursday went on indefinite fast at the Hindu College centre in Guntur opposing the proposal to divide Andhra Pradesh.
Speaking on the occasion, Prasad Rao feared that the division of the water of Godavari and Krishna rivers between Telanagana and Andhra would pose major problems if the state was bifurcated.
Two other TDP leaders who accompanied Prasad Rao are Guntur District Telugu Desam Party president and Member of Legislative Assembly Pattipati Pulla Rao and Vinukonda TDP MLA G V Anjaneyulu.
Meanwhile, the police on Thursday took four students fasting at the Nagarjuna University campus to the government general hospital in Guntur as their health deteriorated. They were administered saline and other fluids at the hospital.TDP moves in to counter Telangana fire
