Three Inter-Services Intelligence operatives were on Wednesday killed and another injured after Taliban militants fired at a vehicle carrying them in Pakistan's restive northwest, media reports said.
The militants ambushed the vehicle in Bannu area of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa province.
The militants, armed with assault rifles, fired at the car from several directions. Three officials were killed instantly while another was injured, the reports said.
The media reports described the dead intelligence sleuths as low-ranking officials of the ISI. There was no official word on the incident from the military.
This was the second major attack since Tuesday. The ISI blamed on the Pakistani Taliban, who have targetted military and intelligence facilities in suicide attacks and bombings over the past four years.
Among the military facilities attacked by militants are the army's General Headquarters in Rawalpindi and a naval airbase in Karachi. On Tuesday, the Taliban attacked a school van on the outskirts of Peshawar city, killing five children and the driver.
A militant spokesman said the attack was directed against members of a pro-government tribe.ISI, MQM brief Pak SC on Karachi situation
