A head constable and two constables of the force died while the condition of one among the injured jawans was critical, BSF sources said.
The ultras triggered the landmine explosion near Erikbuta village under Pakhanjur police station limits when the mini truck carrying the jawans was passing, Kanker SP Rahul Bhagat told PTI. The incident took place around 18:20 hours.
The troops belong to the 87th battalion of the BSF which has a camp near the village. They were moving on operational duties, the sources said.
Additional forces have been rushed to the spot, Bhagat said.
The BSF has deployed five battalions (5,000 personnel) in Kanker for anti-Naxal operations and security related duties.
