Terrorists attack NC leader's convoy, kill cop
May 25, 2016 19:50 IST

Terrorists attacked a police party guarding a National Conference leader in Kashmir’s Pulwama town on Tuesday, seriously injuring a policeman who later succumbed in a hospital.

The terrorists also snatched the AK-47 rifle of the NC leader’s personal guard.

The NC leader, who is former Rajpora MLA, was on his way to attend a marriage function.

The security forces have cordoned off the area and a massive manhunt has been launched to nab the terrorists.

Reacting to the incident, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah tweeted: ‘The PSO of my District President Pulwama has been injured in a militant attack. Hope he makes a complete & swift recovery.’

Just two days ago, terrorists shot at and killed three cops in Srinagar. Security in the capital city has been beefed up following the incidents.
