India and the US on Monday underlined the need to fight terrorism at all places and in all its forms as officials of the two countries held discussions on the issue in New Delhi.

After his nearly three-hour long meeting with Ministry of External Affairs officials, including Joint Secretary (Americas) S Jayashankar, US Assitant Seccretary of State Richard Boucher said the two sides discussed joint efforts to fight terrorism.

The two sides felt that terrorism should be fought in "all places and all its forms," Boucher told reporters.

Describing his meeting as "very good", he said the two sides talked about the entire gamut of bilateral relations.

He said there has been progress in many areas and "there are areas where we hope to make progress".

"We had quite extensives on regional and global issues," Boucher said.
