As the whole of Andhra Pradesh remains tense in the wake of mass protests against the Srikrishna Commission report, Congress leaders from Telangana are planning a mass resignation.
Telugu Desam Party leaders from region are also planning to resign from their legislature and parliamentary seats to pressurise the government to grant statehood status to Telangana. TDP leaders are meeting in Hyderabad to take a decision on the matter.
Congress MLAs and MPs, numbering nearly 70, will meet under the banner of the Telangana Saradhya Brindam and discuss how to carry forward the matter.
The leaders feel that their resignations will bring pressure on the government to begin the process for Telangana.
