Around 50 Team Anna supporters, including girls, on Saturday staged a protest outside Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's residence in New Delhi.

The activists gathered outside the 7-Race Course Road residence of the prime minister at around six pm shouting slogans against the United Progressive Alliance government. The protest came hours ahead of Anna Hazare joining the Team Anna fast in New Delhi on Sunday.

The police immediately rushed to the spot and detained the protesters. Protesters were seen trying to climb the gates of the well-secured residence while police tried to prevent them from doing so.

They also threw black chalks inside the premises. Anna supporters also wrote slogans against the prime minister on the roads as well as the wall of the residence.
