One arrested in phone-tapping case

The Delhi police has arrested one person in connection with the alleged phone-tapping of Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh.

Pushpendra, working at a private detective agency, was nabbed in New Delhi on Friday night, police sources said.

The special cell of the Delhi police had registered a case of forgery, cheating, criminal conspiracy and some sections of the Indian Telegraph Act in connection with the allegations made by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav about tapping of phones of Amar Singh and other SP leaders.

Yadav had alleged in Lucknow on Friday that  party general secretary Amar Singh's telephone number 39565414, for which Reliance Infocomm is the service provider, was being tapped by the Central government.
