Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray has said that Sushma Swaraj is the only leader in the BJP who is 'deserving' and will make a 'great choice' for the prime minister's post, evoking a cautious response from the Bharatiya Janata Party which said it has a number of 'capable' leaders to fill the top slot.
Taking a swipe at the Sena chief, the Congress said NDA has the habit of 'counting chickens before they hatch'.
"At present there is only one person who is intelligent, brilliant - Sushma Swaraj," Thackeray said in part three of his marathon interview, published by Sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' on Sunday.
He was responding to the question who in the BJP could become the next prime minister.
"I have said this many times... She would be a great choice for PM's post. She is a deserving, intelligent woman. She would deliver a great performance," the Shiv Sena patriarch added.
