Mohammad Shahid Imam, a suspected Lashkar-e-Tayiba operative, has been arrested by Delhi police for allegedly running a terror network between Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan.

“Imam was in touch with Javed Baluchi, a LeT commander based in Pakistan. We traced the phone calls made between them and found that they were setting up a network for the Lashkar between Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan,” a source in Delhi police told Rediff.com.

The terror outfit has been trying to set up a major module in Delhi since the last few years, he said.

Police claim to have found Imam’s diary, in which he allegedly jotted down plans to launch a terror strike in Delhi.

“He has visited Pakistan twice over the strike plan on Delhi. We have reports about Baluchi being in India until a few days back. We are looking for him now,” said the source in Delhi police.
