Haroon Rashid Abdul Hamid Naik, allegedly a member of Indian Mujahideen, arrested in a fake currency case, was on Friday sent to judicial custody by a local court.
Haroon was produced before Mazgaon Magistrate M P Bage, who remanded him in judicial custody till September 30.
Earlier, Haroon and his aide Asrar Ahmed Abdul Hamid Tailor alias Sagri, a computer trainer and also a suspected IM member, were remanded in Anti-Terrorism Squad custody in the same case.
The duo has also been questioned for their suspected involvement in the July 13 serial blasts of Mumbai. According to ATS, Asrar had confessed to his involvement in distribution of fake currency notes along with Haroon, to whom he had imparted computer training.
Haroon had sent Asrar to Pakistan for terror training in 2000, they said.
