A major earthquake of 6.3 magnitude hit Mauritius early on Monday morning. There have been no reports on the casualties and losses yet.
The earthquake's epicentre has been traced to east of Mauritius, about 901 km east-northeast of Port Louis, the capital of Mauritius, the US Geological Survey has said.
The quake struck the island at about 7.30 am local time (0330 GMT).
