In a statement issued to the media here the outfit's 'commander-in-chief' Paresh Barua stated that so far 14 Assamese youth had been killed in various parts of India outside Assam and the state machinery was trying to project it as an outcome of religious fanaticism.
The ULFA leader termed the killings as pre-planned attack on Assamese youth working or studying outside the state and warned that if such attacks were not stopped, retaliatory attacks would be launched on people from those states in Assam.
The ULFA faction also flayed the ruling Congress and the BJP for fanning communal passion in the state through AIUDF leader Badaruddin Ajmol and Bishwa, Hindu Parishad-Bajrang Dal respectively keeping in mind the general election of 2014.
It asked Ajmal why he has failed to raise his voice against killing of Assamese youth outside while he has launched a global campaign saying that Muslims are being killed in Assam.
The ULFA expressed concern that communal clashes were still occurring in western Assam and was threatening to spread to north Assam. It stated that there was no heroic involved in killing each other within the state as it was against the interest of formation of a greater Assamese nation.
