State health department employee shot dead in Srinagar

Unidentified gunmen shot at and killed a state health department employee in the Hazratbal area on the outskirts of Srinagar on Monday afternoon.

A senior police officer said gunmen fired at Abdul Ahad Dar, 36, from close range in the Gasoo locality and later escaped.

“Dar was shifted to hospital where he succumbed," he said. Senior police officers have rushed to the spot.
