Mumbai Police Commissioner Ranjit Singh Sharma, in the eye of the storm for his alleged involvement in the multi-crore fake stamp paper scam, proceeded on leave on Thursday.

Sharma met Chief Minister Sushilkumar Shinde in the morning and sought permission to go on leave.

On Wednesday, the Special Investigating Team probing the scam had submitted a report to the Bombay high court listing Sharma's 'omissions and commissions.'

The report was submitted to the court in a sealed cover captioned 'Shri R S Sharma's involvement.'
