Abdul Karim Telgi, the prime accused in the fake stamp paper racket, will issue a legal notice to noted director Mahesh Bhatt to restrain him from producing a film on his life.

The notice will be issued by next week, Telgi's counsel M T Nanaiah said in Mumbai on Bangalore.

Telgi feels that the film may prejudice people and even witnesses may speak "untruth" and implicate him, he said outside a special court at Parappanahara Agrahara jail on the outskirts of Bangalore.

Bhatt was quoted as saying in an English daily earlier this week that he had decided to do the film and reportedly met his investors, who approved the project.
