Deputy Chief Miinster of Tamil Nadu M K Stalin and Union Minister for Textiles  Dayanidhi Maran called on the United Progressive Alliance chairperson Sonia Gandhi at 10 Janpath on  Monday. They discussed political situations in Tamil Nadu.

This is the first interaction between Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leadership and the All India Congress Committee after the  walk out of Chief Minister Karunanidhi from New Delhi when the UPA assumed office for the second term.

Political circles are agog with speculation that MK Stalin is believed to have hinted of advancing assembly polls from April 2010.

The new Tamil Nadu assembly building is being opened in the month of
March 2010
in the outskirts of Chennai. In all probability the next Tamil Nadu  budget for 2010 is likely to be presented by Karunanidhi from the new building.

And DMK is expected to go in for advancing the assembly polls by one year. This advancement is done keeping the health of the Tamil Nadu chief minister Karunanidhi in mind.

If this is done, Congress is likely to go with the DMK with a major
seat sharing formula, taking 100 seats out of the 234 strength of the Tamil Nadu assembly.
