Two paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force troopers were wounded in a powerful hand-grenade explosion in uptown Karan Nagar area of Jammu and Kashmir's summer capital Srinagar on Thursday evening.
A senior police official said militants tossed the grenade at a CRPF bunker which exploded, injuring the two troopers who were manning the bunker. The injured troopers were immediately evacuated to the SMHS hospital for treatment.
The explosion triggered heavy panic in the busy Karan Nagar area.
Security forces have surrounded the area for search operations.
No group has yet laimed responsibility for the attack.
