To ensure right and timely selection of candidates for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, Samajwadi Party asked interested party cadre to stake their claim for the ticket by May 31.
"Chief minister and SP state president Akhilesh Yadav has directed all the party men, interested in contesting Lok Sabha polls to stake their claim for the party ticket by May 31," party spokesman Rajendra Chowdhury said.
The application for the ticket can be made on a set proforma available in the party office with Rs 10 thousand as fees, he said.
Akhilesh has written a letter in this regard to all the party office bearers and said that those who are party members could apply for the party tickets.
After getting a taste of success in assembly polls, SP is focusing on 2014 polls and feels that timely selection of candidates could better its prospects.
In all his meetings, party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav has been asking party workers to leave no stone unturned to get maximum number of seats in Lok Sabha.
