Sonia to fly abroad for medical check-up

Congress President Sonia Gandhi is expected to fly abroad for medical check-up this week.

The Congress party has not made public the date or destination of Sonia’s trip.

The Congress president had in September last year made a similar trip abroad for a routine medical check-up after undergoing surgery for an undisclosed ailment in August 2011.

In her absence, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi is expected to take over the reins of the party.
