In yet another warning to YS Jaganmohan Reddy, the defiant Lok Sabha member from Kadapa, the Congress high command has cracked the whip against his follower and former minister, Konda Surekha.
A day after the firebrand legislator from Warangal wrote a stinging letter to the party president Sonia Gandhi targeting the Chief Minister K Rosaiah and demanding that the state leadership be handed over to Jagan, the party has issued a show cause notice to her.
She has been asked to explain why action should not be taken against her for damaging the party by her recent statements and acts. The party has given her a week's time to respond.
Konda Surekha, who was the only minister to resign from the state cabinet demanding that Jagan be made the chief minister in place of his father Y S Rajaskehara Reddy, is the second Jagan follower to face the action.
Earlier, another Jagan loyalist and state Congress secretary Ambati Rambabu was suspended from the party after issuing a show cause notice to him for making statements against Rosaiah.
